Day 88 (4.4.09)

Acceptance...

Today (I think) I finally accepted the doggy things about the dog. I did love the dog from day 1, but just couldn't come to terms with the extra work. She won me over! Like I said, it just takes me time...

Day 84 (3.31.09)

From snow to rain...

OK, honestly I was really questioning my decision to get a dog. All of a sudden I had SO much more work! Cleaning, training, feeding, walking AND the worst - dirty paws! And it has been snowing and now raining! One thing about me - I'm always overwhelmed with new situations - kids being born, moving, you name it... Just the nature of the beast, I'll get used to Coco - kids love her!

Day 82 (3.29.09)

March snowstorm...

I can't belive it snowed! They were talking about it, and talking about it, I just didn't think it would. Made for some beautiful scenery. I am SO ready for spring to come! It's been a long, tough winter. Good news is - all of this melted by the time I got home from work (well, most of it anyway)

Day 85 (3.26.09)

Playdate-o-rama...

So this is the first time I had Nicole, Brandon (Alush's friend) AND the dog in the house all at once. I always feel that Alush is getting the short end of the stick - Oli always has friends, playdates, bithday parties. Alush, well he is a little more reserved. So he was SO excited to play with Brandon! They left me exhausted...but happy.

Day 78 (3.19.09)

Tea Party...

The kids got all dressed up, the china and white tablecloths came out to honor letter 'T' with a Tea Party. Such a nice event, the kids really loved it. Coconut started the day by trying to chew Olivia's dress and tights. That dog needs some bones and rawhides! She did cry when we left her in the crate (not too long though - she only needs to last 3 hours).

Day 77 (3.18.09)

Adoption Day...

So it turns out we got Coconut after all! We met with Alive Rescue ladies at a Starbucks in the city. We signed paperwork, put her collar on AND she was ours! Now what? AAAAaaaaa - help! I have 2 kids and an animal! She began by marking the house (no1 and no2) but settled down for the night pretty well. We will see what happens next!

Day 73 (3.14.09)

The language barrier...

So, today we hosted husband's family from Mexico. All was fine, except they could speak as many English words as I could Spanish, which made for some reale interesting moments. The kids refused to play with the guests, the men talked amongs themselves while I was trying to make the ladies feel welcomed. Hopefully between hand gestures and smiles they got my message...
